Some say Justin Tamsett is a visionary; others say he was lucky for selling his health club before the Global Financial Crisis (GFC) of 2008; he says, ‘You make your own luck!’

In 1989, Justin began his career in the fitness industry as a gym instructor. He then launched his own personal training business – long before personal training became mainstream. Justin has managed and owned fitness clubs since 1990. Considering he is a fourth generation entrepreneur, his talent for creating businesses is not surprising!
Justin is now the Managing Director of Active Management, which he began January 2004. He offers coaching to businesses worldwide in everything from start up and design to marketing and sales systems. Justin also facilitates four Australian and New Zealand ‘fitness industry round tables’ events, which allows him to see a huge cross section of business models.

Justin’s awards include:
• Fitness Australia Presidential Award, 2006;
• Australian Fitness Network Presenter of the Year, 2008;
• Fitness NSW Contribution to the Fitness Industry Award, 2008;
• and in 2011, Justin was an inaugural inductee into the Fitness Australia Roll of Honour – a great privilege and honour.
Justin is a current board member of Fit for Good. Fit for Good is the fitness industry’s charitable foundation designed to provide health and fitness opportunities for Australians in need. Fit for Good is also Justin’s personal charity of choice.
After a major health scare in 2004, Justin is very much aware of what stress, too much work and not enough play can do to the body. Hence his speakers kit includes talks on creating work-life balance, advice that he shares with thousands of small business owners and staff of major companies. Everyone can benefit from discovering their energy result from JT’s YENO wellness quotient!
It is not all just business for Justin!
In November 2008, Zoe was born to Robyn and Justin, after years of trying and IVF. As a proud father, he enjoys teaching his little girl about gratitude, choices, how to put money in the bank, and how to play rugby! Nothing takes precedence on Mondays, as that is Zoe & JT time!

Justin is a keen rugby supporter and coach, and one of the coaches for Northern Suburbs 1st Grade in Sydney’s Premier Rugby competition. In 2009, he was one of 18 elite coaches who completed the Advanced Coaching Program. In 2012, he joined the Northern Suburbs Board of Directors.
Justin is driven by ambition, passion and emotion. You won’t be surprised that one of Justin’s life objectives is, ‘To increase the number of people exercising, so that there is less strain and financial burden on the Australian health system, meaning future generations can enjoy the awesome life and opportunities that Australia offers.’
